Lyrics
Empty Box
Another empty box, stacked with all the rest
Its summer and the floor looks like a snow storm
There’s snowballs everywhere
Standing in this room, no drought but an ocean
that’s rising everyday
till the snowballs float away
Can you see me? Can you hear me?
Can you feel me, the real me?
Could you hold me? Could you show me
that you know me the real me?
I never expected you to rescue me
I never expected you to jump into
The water to pull me out
But you could have been a better friend to me,
better than the one you pretend to be
and drained a little water from the pool.
So, the days go on just like all the rest
They say, “time will heal the wounds.”
But they never see the scars
When you’re pulled into the deep,
silence shapes the outcome.
With all the words to choose,
but there’s none of them you’ll use
You don’t me? You don’t hear me?
You don’t feel me, the real me?
You don’t hold me? You don’t show me
that you know me the real me?
I never expected you to rescue me
I never expected you to jump into
The water to pull me out
But you could have been a better friend to me,
better than the one you pretend to be
and drained a little water from the pool.
